NOTW - French Twist

so If you read my last post you will know that I painted my nails in Zoya's Catlin, a pefect periwinkle color. Well last week they had a promo that if you buy any nail polish they will send you both the Catlin and dove nail polishes as apart of their french twist promo. Sadly the offer is no longer available but Zoya always has promos going on so make sure to follow their twitter and their facebook for many more offers.

So since I painted my nails already i just wanted to add a little something so that you guys can see something different, since it is nails of the week. So I decided to try out the french twist design, its very simple to do.

All you need is the two colors Catlin and Dove, if you do not have these color try to find colors that are similar or you can use which ever colors you desire.

First you paint your nails with one to two coats of Catlin and then wait for your nails to dry. After they have dried simply add a line of Dove at the tip of your nails, if you have trouble making the line just put the nail brush at the edge of your nail ans move you finger insted of the brush. After all of your nails have dried add a top coat and you done! See how easy that was.

Also make sure you go see my review I did of Zoya polishes a while back and make sure you go check out Zoya if your intersted in their nail polishes.

I Graduated!!!!

This weekend I finally graduated!!! I was excited to finally graduate from highschool! It feels like I've been there forever! Sorry for all the exclamation marks but I'm so happy! Anyways I promised I was going to take picture of everything including my outfit but somehow I totally forgot about my blog and didn't take any picture of my outfit. I did however take some picture with my friends and family but I don't want to post them because some of them may not want to be featured on my blog. So yeah I'm still kind of a blog noob. haha

I did however have some stuff to show you guys, just what I wore and some presents but its still something.

My little cousin Melanie showed up at my door with these in her hand, she's so cute!

This is the dress I wore at my graduation party. It is from OnlyCuteStyle.com.

Also my Zoya order came in the same day! So I guess it was another graduation present!

I painted my nails last minute with Zoya's Caitlin polish for my graduation party. It's such a pretty color.

By the way I'm starting the 5 week best body by Seventeen magazine tomorrow! If you guys want to join me pick up a Seventeen magazine or go to Seventeen.com/team17. I will be showing my progress on my twitter so make sure your following if your intersted.

A Hairy Situation

Picture found here

Since summer is just around the corner that means its time to get hairless. If your like me then you might be worrying, because:

1. You have lots of hair,
2. That hair could be dark or black,
3. You get lots of bumps and ingrown hairs,
4. You get that 2 o clok shadow under your arms.

But that worry I have some solutions to help you with all your hairy problems.

Problem 1: You have lots of hair.
Solution: Shave offen or at least every other day. Because if your going to be out during the day then you might get sweaty and hair will just make you sweat more, which will cause you to get really stinky. So shave with your favorite ravor and a shaving cream or gel, my favorite is this one by Skintimate, it smells so good and works just as well!

Problem 2: Your hair is really dark or black.
Solution: Bleach! No really, bleach your leg, arm, underarm, or whatever hair. This makes you hair not disappear but it lightens your hair and looks as if it did go away. if you are going to bleach your hair make sure to buy one of those bleach kits for you body, like the one by Jolen. I actucally have this one, if you guys want a review on it just tell me! One thing you should know about bleaching is that you well keep bleaching for a longer effect.

Problem 3: You get lots of bumps and ingrown hairs.
Solution: Exoliate yourself, I tend to have this problem on my thighs so I started using a scrub for my legs by Soap and Glory. This really helped and got rid of most of mine ingrown hairs! Also using a loofah helps too.

Problem 4: You get that 2 o clok shadow under your arms.
Solution: I've been there and now I have the perfect answer, wax it off! Insted of shaving your underarms try waxing, yes it will hurt but the results are way better and it will really get rid of everything under there! If you are embarrassed about going to a salon to get your under arms waxed then do what I did and buy a microwavable wax that you can do at home.

Mini Review:

I first saw Nair's roll-on wax in the May 2011 Allure issue and was so intrigued by this product that I had to go out and get it! It comes with the roll-on applicator and ten reusable waxing strips. I was kinda of skeptical about this product because it's by Nair, and I really hate the smell of their products but I really enjoyed the smell of this honey and milk wax. And because you can reuse the waxing strips you can enjoy this sweet smell more offen! Also beaware that just because this is a roll-on it does not mean that it won't get messy it is still a wax, and a honey wax at that, just warning you.

First I must say that you have to read the instructions, if not then you may not get any results. I'm that type of person who always just gets a product and starts using it without reading any instructions, which made my forst time use very frustrating, so take my advice! So I first used this roll-on wax on legs and noticed that it hurt! But after you keep reapplying the wax it it feels alot better. However I didn't like the fact that I had to keep reapplying the wax like a hundred times just for one section! So I would'nt recommend this for a really hairy leg person. Then after that I used it under my arms and it hurt just as much as it did on my legs! But it did get a lot of hair out the first time and the good part about this is since its under your arms you do not have to keep waxing off a lot. So overall I really like Nair's roll-on wax just for my under arms and will keep using it for just that.

Hope this helps some of you!

NOTW - Rock candy

Back in March I did a post on China Glaze's crackle broken hearted polish(which you can check out here). So now I'm doing a one on crushed candy.

This week I am wearing China Glaze's crushed candy over Avon's urban grey on my nails with a topcoat over. One thing I've noticed with these crackle polishes is that its kinda hard to find a color that looks good with it. I mean they are fun to put on because they crackle, but it gets annoying after a while because I keep to have to remove the polish and then reapply just to get a good color sceme and then once I've decided i have to remove the ones that aren't that color and reapply which is a waste of product. But don't get me wrong its still fun!

This was the crackle I was so excited to get because its the same color as my favorite China Glaze polish, For Audrey, which I have on my toes right now, matches really great!

Which do you prefer? Black base or greyish-white?

Song of the Week: Eyes on me

I'm not the biggest gamer in the world, I usually just watch, but this song by Faye Wong is so beautiful it almost brings me to tears just hearing it. If you like slow love songs this is a match made in heaven for you. If you heard this song before you probably heard it in Final Fantasy VIII.

NOTW - Pastel Nails

First off I want to say sorry for the minor blogging. I'm having finals next week and I've been studing and doing projects this week. But after next week I'll be a free women!

Anyways this week I didn't have time to do a cute and quirky design so I just decided to paint my nails some of my favorite colors, pastel! After reading Bubzbeauty's I decided I wanted to do the same colors as hers. I used the same polish she used (Eyeko lilac polish) and my faveorite polish ever, China Glaze's For Audrey. I think this is a cute combination to wear during the Spring.

I'm going to do an update later so stay tuned!

Song of the Week: C'mon

I just heard this song yesterday and I'm in love! It's called C'mon by Panic! at the Disco featuring Fun. I've been a die hard Panic! at the Disco fan for a few years, I always end up liking every song that they put out, but I've never heard of Fun but I now need to thanks to this song. This song comes out on itunes on May 17.

My first Birchbox

Last month when I was watching missglamorazzi's latest birchbox video I was amazed at what products she got and that made me want to subscribe to the birchbox.

For those who don't know birchbox is a monthly subscription that offers you 4-5 deluxe beauty samples that you can try for $10 a month. This is great for those of you who don't like to spend that much on beauty products but still want to try out something new every month. If you liked a product that they sent you you can go to the birchbox website and buy the full size product yourself. Also when you subscribe to get a monthly birchbox they give you 10 loyalty points, when you get 100 points you get $10 off a full size product.

This was my first time getting a birchbox and I must say the packing is adorable! When I went to get the mail I saw the bright pink box and I got so excited! Then when I opened the pink box inside was another box!

The first thing I saw when I opened the box was a note from the birchbox about whats in the box and behide it has a list of the products that you recieved.

What's inside

I recieved these four products along with a special treat from the birchbox team.

The first product I saw when I opened the birchbox was this mineral hand cream from a company called Ahava. they describe it as a satiny cream that is rich without being heavy, and sinks into the skin for a major therapeutic benefits. When I tried this hand cream out it did sink into the skin and gave my hands a tiny sensation. The smell reminded me of the baby Johnson products, and it also gave my hands an oil sheen afterwards.

What;s inside this cute package?

When I was watching other people's birchbox video for this month I saw that most of them got a full size Stila eyeshadow, so I was very excited to get this. I got it in the color indigo. Which is a nice dark blue or purple color. They describe it as an easy to blend shadow with a velvety texture, you can apply either dry for a wash of color or wet to turn it into a liner. when I was swatching the color I did notice that it was very smooth, but I haven't tested this out fully yet. So if you want to see a review just leave a comment below and I will.

I swatched it for you guys!

This next product is a pomegranate soap from Archipelago. First off when I open my box I first smelled this so it is kinda strong but not that much. They describe it as a triple milled ultra smooth soap loaded antioxidant rich white tea and pomegranate to gently clean hands and body. I kinda like smell, it reminds me of those hotel soaps they have in the bathroom but better. I would use this when traveling but probably not as an everyday soap, maybe a hand soap?

It has a pretty design on it.

This last sample is a fragrance by Bulgari it's called Mon Jasmin Noir. This Italian fragrance house's lastest winner has waves of ripe fruit with a base of heady jasmine. when it comes to perfumes and fragrance I tend to like more of the sweet or fruity smells, but this one smelled like more of jasmine then anything. So if you like jasmine or floral scents I think you may like this.

Inside

Lastly, birchbox always includes an extra treat with each of their boxes. They sent this cute Tiny prints card with a cute tree on the cover. So cute! The inside is blank so you can write whatever you want inside and give it to someone for their birthday or whatever.

Well thats it, I really enjoyed my first birchbox experience and I can't wait to see what I get next month!

NOTW - Striped Nails

I always get ask "How can I get my nails to grow longer?" Well this is a very simple nail art to make your nails look longer.

You can use whatever colors you like but I used just a black nail polish, with your desired polish paint your nail polish with one to two coats. Wsit for the nail polish to settle and then with a thin brush choose another color and try to paint a straight vertical line down your whole nail, start from the tip of your nail and drag the polish down. Here's a tip: When drawing the stipe down your nail rest your wrist on something, this makes the stripe a lot more easier. This is a great nail design for people with short nails because it gives the illusion of longer nails.

Last Minute Mother Mayhem!

Don't know what to get your mother for Mother's Day tomorrow? Need some last minute suggestions? Don't fret my pet I got you covered!

For the glamour mom:

Is your mom the type of mom who always tries on millions of different fragrances at department store? Then you just might have to get her this Best of Fragrance Deluxe Sampler set from Sephora. It comes with 10 fragrances, a hot pink roller ball to the put the fragrances in, a matching hot pink cosmetic case, and a special voucher that you can redeem at any Sephora stores. So you can have your mother try all the perfumes she wants and which ever she likes the best she can get for free at Sephora. How cool is that!

For the over-working mom:

We all know that the average over worked mom never has any "play" time and always needs her sleep! So why not get her some gifts that she will actually use? The first is a foral eco friendly coffee cup. Not only is coffee cup reusable but it also has a cute "green" flowerly design that any mother would be proud to carry. Next is a sleep mask and a revitalising eye mask. This is perfect for the mom who never gets enough sleep! The mask helps swell any eye puffiness that your mother might get from a rough night. Plus the slogan on this gel sleep mask is so cute and funny! These to gifts from Fred Flare would be great gift set for her, suprise her with her favorite coffee in the coffee cup and a big breakfast with her sleeping mask either on her eyes or next to her plate and some flowers. So cute!

For the stay at home mom:

Your mom probably sends lots of time making breakfast, lunch, dinner, cleaning, and taking you everywhere! So why not give her a nice day off and treat her with a homemade breakfast, take her to a fancy restaurant for dinner, and take her to go see a movie or take her to the salon? Or better yet, you paint her her nails and give her a relaxing facial and a calm massage! Sometimes its not about the expensive gifts its about treating your mom like how she sould feel everyday...Beautiful.

NOTW - Bumble Bee Nails

This week is a busy week for me so I decided to copy one of videotubers nail tutorial insted of doing one of my own orignal designs. Bubzbeauty is a beauty guru who makes videos about makeup, skincare, nail, and hair tutotials. She also has a comedy channel too, she's hysterical! Any how, Bubz made a bumble bee nail tutorial not that long ago and I fell in love with it! So I finally doodled my nails with a cute bumble bee and I must say its very cute and I've already got lots of compliments!

I used China Glaze's For Audrey (Background), Forever 21 polish in Yellow (Bumble bee), and the black and white art deco polishes (for the rest).

Check out the video below!

Get healthy & DIY dessert Pizza!!!

So for those of you who don't follow me on twitter I tweeted last week that I was going to eat no desserts or sweets for an entire week. For some of you, you think is no big deal but for those of you who eat dessert everyday this may be very difficult. I sadly am or at least use to be one of those people who ate some sort of dessert after dinner. So I decided to change this and stop eating dessert or any type of sugary sweets for one whole week.

Overall It was one of the best experiences I've done! I do have to admit that the first two days my stomach did hurt but I don't think it was because I did'nt eat any sweets I think I just had a tummy problem, but who knows? Anyways the next few days after that my mood change, I was a lot more happier then usual and a lot of people saw this in me and kept telling me why I was so happy! By the end of the week I found out that not eating desserts was a really great idea and not as hard as I thought it would be. I replaced cakes, cookies, and ice cream with a big bowl or fresh fruits whenever I had an urge for something sweet, and that really made me like this experince a lot more, since I really never ate that much fruit before. I'm totally going to be eating a lot more fruit and more healthier food because the stuff you eat really does effect your mood and your energy, and who would'nt want to wake up with lots of energy and be in a happy mood all the time?

On Saturday I made a dessert pizza in order to merge my past and my new fruity future together. I use to make these a lot before but somehow I stopped, but now I'm in love again and I'm even thinking of making one for my mom for mother's day this weekend, filled with her favorite fruits!

Mine, It was soooo good!

XOXO

P.S. Tell me if you want to see more of these healthier post.
