Travel Series: How to pack a suitcase

I'm leaving on my road trip to California this weekend so I'm thought why not do a mini travel series since its the summer a lot of you are probably leaving on summer vacations. The first of this summer series is on how to pack your suitcase.

First thing you should do before pulling out clothes out of your closet is find out the current temperature of the location you are going to be visiting. Also if you can, plan ahead or find out what you are going to be doing there, like visiting family, shopping, beach, etc. Once you have an idea of what you're going to be doing then you can start pulling out clothes. Before you start folding and storing your clothing items make sure you have some outfits planned out, this will be much easier on you and you will spend less time worrying on what to wear and more time having fun! You can either lay out you clothes over each other or you can also go to and find picture of your clothing items or at least some similar to them and plan outfits, I did this and it was fun!

Now that you have your clothes out and ready to pack its time start folding your clothes. All suitcases vary so make sure you get one with enough space for all your stuff to fit in, I like one with lots of pockets so I can pack all my clothes in the main area. I usually always pack my bras, undies, and socks in the front pockets, I then pack all my shoes in the large inside pocket and then finally pack my clothes and other stuff in side. When organizing my items inside I place the bottoms in one stack then all the tops in another stack and so on, but as you can see I'm only packing one skirt so I just placed it on top of of my dresses, I sometimes pack according to fabric type and color weird I know but I'm OCD about some stuff, haha.

* TIP: Make sure you have some sleepwear planned out, a jacket in case it gets cold at night, and clothes you will be traveling back in. *

By now your suitcase probably looks something like this, I only packed my clothes for this post but I'll show you guys what else I packed in there in a another post. At this point you can put in other things that you will also be taking with you like slippers, I always need slippers, hair dryer, curling iron, straightener, hair products, face products and makeup, I will also be making a whats in my travel makeup bag.

* TIP: When traveling is always make sure you have enough space in your suitcase so you can go shopping and bring back some goodies! *

Happy Hoildays :)

NOTW - Girl's Generation Hyoyeon inspired

I recently saw this interview with the owner of the nail salon where the popular korean girl group SNSD or Girls' Generation get their nails done at. They also showed different designs they have gotten done before and I must say I was so inspired so I did my version of one of favorite designs the pink leopard Hello kitty gel nails that Hyoyeon has wore before.

I am so pleased with the results and I think this may be my favorite I've ever done, my younger sister even wants me to do hers but in blue! Check out the video below for more cute designs that the Girls' Generation have wore.

Late Sunday haul

Sorry forgot to post this mini Sunday haul yesterday, but I was too pooped out! Anyways I found this cute brown bag at Marshall's, this bag will be great for traveling because if you're like me you probably want to carry a bag but not anything too huge, plus this bag has so many pockets inside so I will stay super organize! Next I bought some cute sunnies with floral print from target, I've been wanting some like these since last summer and I'm so happy I found these! I also bought some waterproof mascara from L'Oreal, I heard this is a great waterproof mascara so I decided to try it out, I will let you know what I think as soon as I start using it. I hardly wear any makeup during the summer but I've been on a look out for a good concealer so I decided to pick up this $1 concealer from ELF just to give it a try. Lastly I posted on twitter that I needed a new base coat, but then I saw that I also need a new top coat so I got this two in one base and top coat from Rimmel I've tried this before and I liked it so I purchased it again.

Hope you guys liked this will be back later with a nails of the week post.

NOTW - Late post!

Sorry for the extremely late nails of the week post I've been very busy and semi lazy this week. But I promise I'm trying! I have lots of post planned out next week, like on packing for vacations and such, since I'm leaving for California next weekend I want to give you guys some advice on packing and what to bring so you don't have to drive yourself crazy when packing, like I use to!

Anyways this week I painted my nails three colors, I used two of Avon's polish in viva pink(bright hot pink) and cotton candy(lighter baby pink) I also used OPI's teenage dream. I painted both of the Avon pinks on the ring and thumb fingers and as most of the hearts, then I painted the rest of the nails with teenage dream, I just reversed everything on the other hand.

Happy Father's day!

So today I wanted to wake up and make breakfast for my father, because he always makes his best pancakes every Sunday, but things didn't go as planned. I woke up late and then he went to work! Normally he has Sundays off so when I didn't see him this morning I knew I had to make it up to him later. Once he came home we went shopping and then got some BBQ take out, his favorite, and came back home and just hanged out a bit, oh and I also made him a frappuccino! So good I have to post the recipe some time. Anyways this was started out bad but ended up great! Happy father's day to all fathers.

While we were shopping I picked up the recent Allure issue, which has Fergie, I know each time I do these mini hauls I always have a magazine its just that I love magazines! Espically Allure its my favorite for beauty sorts of stuff. I need to subscribe to them again... Anyways I also got this new leave in conditioner for curly hair, i got it at the beauty section at Marshalls it has olive oil, tea tree oil, and vitamin E sounds healthy. I also got myself a Luna bar in white chocolate macadamia, when I was little I ate a white chocolate macadamia cookie and threw up, I haven't tried anything with macadamias since I hope I'm not allergic.

Oh and if your wondering I'm marking everything off my 17 things list really fast I'm so proud of myself, I'm spending more time on my blog, speaking of which I have a fun nail tutorial coming up tomorrow so stayed tune, just make sure you don't toss the Sunday paper ;) Well this is how I spent my father's day, how did you spend your father's day? Leave a comment below and remember to always appreciate your dad everyday.

June 2011 Birchbox

First off if you do not know what birchbox is go to my previous post on birchbox. But anyways lets get started with what's in my birchbox this month.

I received my birchbox this morning, and once I got it I open that baby! I always am curious in whats in my birchbox so I find videos on Youtube to see what people got in their birchbox on the month and It always drives me crazy to see what I will get! and this month was no different I saw videos with most on the same products that I got but I didn't get exactly what they got, but every birchbox is different so you may not get the same products as me but you might get similar. The funny thing is that the videos I saw most of the people got the same things. But either way I loved this month's birchbox! It is my favorite so far!

All these products have to do with jetting and traveling, products that you can use when traveling during vacation. Which is super, because I can use all these when I go to California next month.

Whats inside

This was the first product I saw once I open my little box of mysteries and for some reason it was leaking on the side when I got it. Its Amika's obliphica oil treatment. This is "Perfect for summer, this blend of nourishing argan and jojoba oils calms frizz, hydrates dried ends, and protects from UV rays." I've always wanted to try out argan and jojoba oil and this combines both in one bottle. To apply this just add some to your palms rub together and evenly distribute all over dry or damp hair. You can also use this to nourish your hair before any heat styling. This sounds great to use during the summer and because it protects from UV rays and you need to remember to protect your hair from those UV rays! It also smells very good.

Next I got Pangea organic's toner for normal/oily skin it also came with a spray pump thing. "Laced with mandarin and lime, this energizing toner is a skincare staple and the ideal on-the-go refresher. This is basically a spray facial toner, it has a very citrus smell that wakes you up. It also refreshes you face from being out all day in the sun. You can either use this after you have cleansed or during the day to refresh you face. I'm definitely going to be using this when I'm traveling so I can wake up my face during day.

Whats inside this???

Along with the facial toner they also sent some facial cream. Use this after you have cleansed and toned your skin. This cream has anti-aging, purifying and soothing ingredients that benefits your skin and deeply hydrates while offering many types of nutrients to help balance combination skin. These are great if you want to try out more products from Pangea organics. I'm also going to be taking these with me but I'm also bring my moisturizer because these will only last me about two days.

Next up it Kate Spade's twirl fragrance. "This flirty scent feels carefree and joyful-just the thing to wear on your adventures at home and abroad". I was very excited to smell this many said that it smells really good and I completely agree! If you have the chance to smell this because its a wonderful scent. I'm not good with describing smells but just imagine a prepping for a party in a bottle. I totally what to get the full size of this.

I was also very excited to get this product it is the Laura Geller baked blush n' brighten. "Made in Italy, this swirl of warm and cool tones is infinitely versatile-dust your cheeks for a flattering flush or use the lighter shades as a highlighter". First I have to say that this is a free full size product that retails for 29.50 dollars and I got it for 10 dollars, birchbox I love you! Anyways I got mine in the shade honey dipped but I bet everyone got different colors, I really liked the shade I got it can give you a nice sun kissed look all over your face which is perfect for the summer.

Last but the least are these two EZ4U facial towelettes by Dr. Dennis Gross. "You'll want to take these four-in-one wonders everywhere-a single wipe cleanses, tones, moisturizes, and protects your skin. Talk about easy". These will be very convenient to use while on my road trip, I always worry about my skin while traveling and these towelettes will not only cleanse but also tone, moisturize and protect my skin? Score!

Well that is it! I can officially say that I'm obsessed with birchbox and can not wait until next month! Want a review on a certain product? did you get something different in your birchbox? Feel free to leave a comment below and thank you for vising my blog.
