How to: Crochet a French macaroon

The other day I was looking through my inspiration folder and saw a picture of a tiny French macaroon and then decided to crochet one. Now I am going to show you guys how to crochet your own French macaroon. This is a very quick DIY that you can probably make in minutes!

You will need:

-Worsted weight yarn in your choice of color, I used a light pink.
-White or cream colored yarn for the middle.
-Size G or 4.25 hook
-Stuffing
-Yarn needle


Abbreviations:

Ch = chain
Sl st = slip stitch
St = stitch
Sc = single crochet
Dc = double crochet
Dec = decrease
Flo = front loop only
Blo = back loop only


Instructions

1. Ch 6, sl st into first st to form a loop.
2. DC into each st two times, sl st into first st. Total = 12 sts.
3. DC into one st and sc in one st. repeat 5 times. Total = 18 sts.
4. SC 18 sts. Repeat. Total = 18 sts.
5. Change to white yarn.
6. Sc blo 18 times. Total = 18 sts.
7. Change back to first yarn.
8. Sc flo 18 times. Total 18 sts.
*Add stuffing*
9. Dec 1 st, sc 1 st. Repeat until hole is small enough to be sewn closed
10. Cut off and weave in ends.
Done!

My younger sister was out this week for school and we decided to make Christmas cards, since she super excited for Christmas. I made this snowman for a stocking.

For Thanksgiving I made pumpkin spice cupcakes with cream cheese icing. I younger cousin like them a lot!


On Friday I hung up my Hello Kitty ornament!


The gingerbread latte from Starbucks is da bomb! You have to try it!


I went to Bath & Body Works today and got a homemade cookies candle and this gingerbread candle holder! It's so cute!

NOTD - Ombre Crackle

I painted my younger sister's nails last week with this design and I loved it so much that I decided to do it on my own nails. I used two different shades purple(Avon's luxe lavender and OPI's lucky lucky lavender) to create the ombre effect. Learn how to make the ombre effect on your nails here. Then I simply added a black crackle effect polish over the ombre design as soon as it was dry. This design is really pretty and I can't wait to try it with more colors.

How to: Nutella Hot Chocolate

Sorry for not blogging yesterday, It's been gloomy here and I couldn't take pictures for a blog post. Anyways today it was rainy and on cold windy rainy days I like to cuddle around the TV with a hot cup of cocoa. But today I wasn't feeling very cocoa-ish so I decided to whip up a batch of Nutella hot chocolate instead and wanted to share with you my recipe!


You will need:
-Soy milk, but you can use whatever type pf milk.
-Nutella
-Ground cinnamon
-Coffee-mate caramel macchiato latte creamer


Measure out one cup of milk and in a saucepan add a 1/4 of the milk.


Next add one tablespoon of Nutella into the saucepan and stir.


Keep adding the milk little by little until there is no more milk left.


Next add a tablespoon of the coffee creamer into the saucepan and mix.


Lastly add a bit of cinnamon and mix.


Done! The Nutella hot chocolate should look like this once you are done. Now add some whipped cream and garnish with some cinnamon.

Monday I crocheted all day!


Snicker + ice cream + waffle cone = HEAVEN!!!


I have a big box of handmade stuff that I finished/never finished and decided to take a look. I found so many things that I never finished so I've started to work on them again hoping that I'll finish them this time. So far I've completed two things!


I unraveled some old projects and got so many new balls of yarn in my yarn basket. Yay!


This sleep mask is possibly my favorite I have ever made yet! Hopefully I can make some more this week. Can you guess what it is?

My younger sister got a new mug today at Marshall's. It is so cute! I love it!

So many things are happening this week Thanksgiving and Black Friday, I can't wait!

Work Space (11/19/11)

So far this weekend I've been working on finishing some Winter themed MooeyAndFriends items and my desk has never looked so messy and crafty so I decided to snap a few pictures and share with you guys my work space. I'm so excited to see these items finally come together, I just need to pick up some supplies tomorrow and finish up the rest of my items and I'll post them up on Etsy as soon as I can.






Hopefully I'll post these guys early next week sometime before Thanksgiving. I also plan to make a special black Friday deal after Thanksgiving, I'll keep you guys posted!

SOTW - Be My Baby

To be be honest I am not the biggest Wonder Girl fan but somehow I found myself constantly listening to this song on repeat all this week! Be My Baby is the first single from Wonder Girl's new album "Wonder World", and so far I'm really liking the whole album. "Wonder World" is their second album since their first "The Wonder Years" which they released back in 2007, Since then their voices have improved and it definitely shows in Be My Baby.

Overall the song is very peppy and always seems to put me into a happy mood. The music video though is not my favorite, it actually reminds me of Beyonce's Single Ladies video. I do however like how easy easy the dance looks and also like their dresses. Other songs I recommend from "Wonder World" are G.N.O(Girls' Night Out), Act Cool, and Nu Shoes.

A Custom Portrait

A few week's ago I entered a contest on Mandy's blog and I ended up winning! I won a custom portrait by Order & Chaos's Holly. At first I didn't know what I wanted but Holly helped me figure out what I wanted. A few days later I ended up with this aborable painting of myself. The painting has two of my favorite things sweets and a rainbow! I espeically love the blueberry on my head!






Oh! She also sent me this cute mushroom iphone/ipod holder, how cute!

Forever 21 for Hello KItty

My heart stopped when I found out that Forever 21 was coming out with a new exclusive collection for Hello Kitty collection. It's obvious that I love Hello Kitty and who doesn't love Forever 21? Yes, Forever 21 has featured some stuff from Hello Kitty before but this time it's different. Sanrio actually put together an exclusive collection with Forever 21, this is not just some tissues with Hello Kitty's face on them, this is an actual collection.

When I first saw pictures online of some of the pieces in the collection my jaw dropped. I was amazed! The collection consists of some very trendy pieces such as maxi dresses and fringe tops. They even have some very cute winter gear, which is great since it's starting to get cold and what better way to stay warm then with a Hello scarf and hat! I am in love with every single piece in this collection they're stylish yet adorable. The collection hits store November 18, that's this Friday!
